About Miriam

Rare expertise in inner growth

How have I become an expert on inner growth? The answer is found in the defining experiences of my life.

I grew up in Wisconsin, enlisted in the Army after high school, and graduated from West Point with a BS in Chinese and as an All-American on the Army Powerlifting Team. I hurt my back and was medically discharged, crushing my dreams of being a soldier, athlete, and international super spy (the show Alias was big back then), instead starting work as a consultant and defense contractor with Booz Allen Hamilton.

Then—my twin brother was wounded in Afghanistan and lost three limbs in an IED blast. With therapy and healing and still working full-time, I started grad school, married, and completed an MA in International Security at Georgetown. I turned in my thesis at 36 weeks pregnant and delivered my son, the official Maryland New Year’s baby, at 1:01 am on Jan 1, 2016.

For over 8 years, I was a Chief Strategist for a series of senior government officials, cultivating mastery, completing leadership coaching certifications, and applying cutting-edge approaches to coaching leaders and teams.

In January 2024, I transitioned to working for Boulder Crest Foundation, a nonprofit serving veterans and first responders with the mission of facilitating Posttraumatic Growth. I’m honored to now serve as Senior Vice President, supporting transformative programs, research, advocacy, world-class training, and education initiatives.

One-on-one private coaching continues to be a vibrant part of my life. The challenges I've faced have fueled my growth, deepened my understanding, and empowered me with greater insight and compassion. I love using my expertise to help forward my clients' deep inner growth and success.

I’m attuned to working with powerful people. Not only executives and leaders; but people who are underserved and underrepresented. Women. Parents. Anyone who sees themselves as a leader, aspiring to be powerful.

Are you ready and willing to do the work? Let’s get moving!

Am I the right coach for you?

A few years ago, I sat down with Henry Kissinger. After speaking for a while, he said, “Oh! You’re like my policy planner when I was Secretary of State, aligning daily activities with overall objectives at the end of the day.”

Like that.

“The value of being able to work through workplace issues, especially for someone who is neurodivergent and unfamiliar with the terrain, cannot be overstated.”
